Is cilantro a Italian or Mexican spice?
???
I rarely see it used in Italian cooking.
Cilantro and coriander come from the same plant. Cilantro is the leaf and coriander is the berry that is used as a spice. In some cuisines (like Thai and Vietnamese, both the leaf and the root are used in addition to the berry)
This herb/spice is used in Mexican, Indian, Pakistani Thai, Vietnamese, Southern Chinese, and other Southeast Asian and some Middle Eastern cuisines.
