my 16 month old makes 5-6 word sentences, is this way abnormal?
she says 5-6 words sentences. she counts to 12 in spanish and 15 in english. we are bilingual. she repeats almost every word we say and retains the vocabulary. she can name everything from clothes, to appliances, to pets, to shapes, answer all kinds of questions, sings songs, puts on and takes off her clothes, tells me what food she wants with words, obeys my commands- sit down, come here, give to mommy, take a bite, get that toy, etc etc tec…. i am a first time mom. i am floored by how much this kid knows. she is reaching 16 months. is this how smart the normal kid is??
oh, there are plenty of times she looks at me, smiles, and disobeys:)
and by disobey i mean pulls my computer wire or something, i’m not like dominant mom or anything
As a preschool teacher I will say it is rare for a child of this age to be so social. Following the commands isn’t as rare most children have started that by this age. She sounds very independent which is good. Keep doing what you are doing. Don’t push her to grow up too fast you cant get the baby years back. But never discourage her either if she is ready to do something new on her own even if most children aren’t doing it by that age let her. Just enjoy her and watch her bloom. You have a very bright daughter my best wishes for you both.
