What’s the difference between spanish food and balkans one?
With Balkans I mean Macedonian, Bulgarian etc
And spanish, mexican etc
They say both are kinda heavy. But are they similar?
Is Italian food related to anything?
Mexican food is very different from Spanish food. In my experience, Spanish is much less spicy.
About the differences between Spanish food and food from Balkan countries, the ingredients are really similar in my opinion. Spanish food sometimes uses saffron, which I haven’t seen in Balkan foods. And I think that Spanish food uses more seafood, although it’s certainly part of Balkan cuisine as well. Also, Balkan food uses dill, which I don’t think is used in Spanish cuisine.
Honestly, I’ve had food from both these places, and they are very similar in my opinion. They use olives, olive oil, peppers, tomatoes, squashes, potato, fish and meats, garlic, paprika, parsley.
The Italian food I’ve eaten is also similar, but the flavoring is slightly different (maybe more basil) and there is more often pasta.
