I need a greater vocabulary in spanish!?

I was talking to an exchange student from Russia and he said that before he came over, they sent him many many lists of words he had to know in english. Is there anything like this available to the general public? Is there ANYTHING of this nature hiding about on the internet? I def need to pump up my vocab, because I’m traveling to Madrid this summer. My grammer is fine, my pronunciation is fine, but I just have very little vocab to work with.
